Lisbeth Evered
Dr. Lis Evered is Associate Professor of Neuroscience in Anesthesiology at Weill Cornell Medicine, NY; Scientific Head of Research in the Department of Anaesthesia and Acute Pain Medicine, St Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne and Associate Professor, Dept of Critical Care, University of Melbourne. Lis is an Honorary Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists. She is Associate Editor for BJA and Geriatric Section Editor for Anesthesia & Analgesia. Her main area of research interest is untangling perioperative neurocognitive disorders (PND), with a focus on postoperative delirium (POD) and progression to dementia, including biomarker and intervention strategies to reduce or prevent these poor outcomes in older individuals. Dr. Evered was recently named Top Australian Researcher in Anesthesiology for 2023 in the annual research report from our national newspaper, The Australian.
